Yesterday, volunteers of Peniel Day foundation went for an outreach to the correctional centre in Ibadan, Oyo State. All week long, I could not help but ponder on so many things, ponder on the Peniel Day’s journey to May 27th, I could not help but marvel at the love of God. God so loved the children at this correctional centre and He stopped at nothing to ensure that we took His light, and love to these children. I am not sure when exactly when the leading to set out to Ibadan came, perhaps towards the end of last year or earlier this year. And when the leading came, I must say that I was hesitant and almost shoved it off. Peniel Day Foundation has never been to Ibadan, and hence unfamiliar with the terrain neither did we have any contact person on ground there.
Nonetheless of how we felt, our fears or doubts, God had given the instruction and it was up to us to take the first step to walk upon waters where our feet and faith would be made stronger. For months into the planning, things seemed a little bleak but God was working things out.
