And the word of God became flesh & began to live within me – John 1:14

All week long, a line from a song kept springing up from my spirit.

You are real to me! I knew it from the start. There is no space between, heaven and my heart. Take me back is the title Maverick City Music is the artist.

Once upon a time, Jesus Christ was so distant and surreal to me. He was more or less a God I could only reach when I went to church. He was a God who just wanted me to obey this set of rules and regulations – do not fornicate, do not lie, do not lie. So I interacted with Him from a place of fear.

Fear of death, fear of going to hell, fear of being punished by Him. This was the resultant effect of the fall of man at the garden of Eden. Sin came and created a gap between us and God, took away the communion we should have with God.

Thank God for the finished works of Christ on the cross of calvary which offers us a life of beautiful communion with God through Jesus Christ. Closely walking with Him, He has shown me that to thrive in my relationship with Him; it takes the holy reverence of Him. Proverbs 1:17. I recognize every day that He is the closest friend that sticks closer than any friend.

This is made possible by the power of the Holy Spirit. Asking for the baptism of the Holy Spirit was the second best decision I made after saying Yes to Jesus Christ in 2016. I am thankful for my foundation class teacher who elaborated the need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit to really enjoy walking with Jesus.

The Holy Spirit has made my walk with Jesus enjoyable, He makes every day with Jesus feel brand new just like having my bath every day I stay refreshed in my walk with Jesus.

I have seen the transition of the word of God from mere stories to becoming tangible things I can touch and feel. I have experienced God’s word come alive to me to fill me up with bubbling joy and reassurance in lowly and not so lowly seasons.

He has become the light in my eyes, lighting up the entirety of my being, scrutinizing and changing my view of things.

Truly and truly, the lyrics of the song is my reality, Jesus is near to me, He lives inside of me, there really is no space between heaven and my heart. I enjoy communion with the Holy Spirit and He keeps breathing live upon the word of God in my life.

Today, I invite you to a place where Jesus Christ is not just a name or a theory to you. I invite you to a place of thriving and growing communion with Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit is your ticket to enter into that place of deep, enjoyable friendship with Jesus Christ and it is absolutely free to receive the Holy Spirit. Repent of all known bad behaviors, confess Jesus Christ as your Lord & savior, then earnestly pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

To my dear believer who is already on the journey of faith but you see yourself struggling to keep up with your walk with Him. The key is the Holy Spirit, He makes the difference in a believer’s relationship. It was evident in the way the disciples carried themselves and related with Jesus after the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2. Although Jesus had gone to be with the father, the disciples seemed to be more in sync with Jesus, seemed to have more understanding of God’s word, and what Jesus would have them do per time. The Holy Spirit was their secret key.

And He is waiting for you to ask Him into your life.
