Living out purpose

For David, after He had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was buried among his father’s and experienced decay in the grave. Acts 13:36

This passage I came across and I saw in brighter light. David was referenced in the books of the apostles as one who fulfilled his purpose in his own generation. He fulfilled God’s purpose in his generation and then experienced death.

This verse is so packed,  I am in awe. There is so much to take from such a short verse.

  • There is a purpose in every individual on earth and there is God’s purpose for every individual. It is a choice to live out your own purpose, God’s purpose or no purpose at all in life.

  • Living out God’s purpose means living a life of so much impact that you are referenced generations after.

  • Living this life of purpose can only be fulfilled in God’s presence, in a growing relationship with God.

  • Anyone who lives in accordance with God’s purpose will be announced by God Himself.

  • Anyone who serves God discovers and lives His divine purpose will be a reference point in his/her generation

  • Death is inevitable for everyman, it is something everyone will go through. Our bodies will decay and rot in the grave eventually. But the lives we lived will be talked about by people.

It is safe to conclude that the pursuit of God, leads to the fulfillment of purpose here on earth and even greater fulfillment in heaven when you have passed.

Seek to please God brethren, seek to grow in your relationship with God, your physical, spiritual growth and fulfillment of divine purpose are directly proportional to your relationship with God. That is how King David did it. 🙂
