Welcome to the Year 2022

Happy new year to you dear! You probably have set out all your new year’s resolutions, pumped up and ready to take on the year by the horns. Am I right or wrong? Whichever side of the coin you may be on, I am not here to judge you or tell you what to do. I am writing to you today, that you may allow the Holy Spirit Himself guide you into your truth all through this year.

So you may ask me, How is the new year going? All pumped, yeah? Pumped up to take over the world this year? Well, prophetically speaking, Yes. But physically, mentally, and spiritually speaking not quite. Although the word of prophecy for my church this year is that “This is our year of becoming divine spectacles”, This is my year of becoming a divine spectacle“. With the whole of my heart, I absolutely believe this word from the mouth of the prophet and head over my church but as much as I believe, I also know I have my own part to play. And this part which I have to play I need all the strength and direction I can garner from my father in heaven. If we examine closely every single prophecy or promise that was spoken over the life of every child of God from scripture, they did not seat idle waiting for the prophecy to come to manifestation. For example, our dear Jesus had some beautiful prophecies over His life –

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him
    the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
    the Spirit of counsel and of might,

Isaiah 11:2-3

Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
    my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
    and he will bring justice to the nations.

Isaiah 42:1

But then He had His part to do for example Luke 6:12 tells us how Jesus stayed up all night to pray to God. I was studying this yesterday and I was like “ehh God” help your baby girl. Pray all night! It was after sessions like this that Jesus went about teaching, healing the sick, and doing all that was prophesied about Him. So, you see, as much as my head wants to hit the ground running so fast, my spirit and mind are still pretty much in a state of rest and abiding with the father.

Jesus Christ came to live the perfect example for us to thrive each day of this new year and every year that we may live here on earth. He lived a life of abiding with the father, He said He does only what He sees the father doing – John 5:19. How can one see what the father is doing, if not by abiding with Him!

A great way to start to abide with the father this year is to spend time in His word. I already kick-started the year with a bible study plan, a plan that would help with my goal to abide with my father each day of this new year. You can check out the plan here on Youversion or check out other plans on there.

Now, these are things impressed upon my heart by the Holy Spirit. He may be saying to you to garner all the speed you can to run, overtake and recover all that belongs to you. The Lord deals with us differently and like I said from the beginning of the post, I hope and pray that you open your heart and mind to be led by the Holy Spirit.

And above all, I pray that all through this new year you and I abide in Jesus as He abides in us. And from abiding, may we spring forth, blossom, and shine for the whole world to see that they may give glory to our father in heaven.

Amen
