As popular as the name of the Lord – Jesus Christ is, more than often the reality of many people including believers is the lack of knowledge or a stagnant knowledge of who is. This was me about five years for over twenty years of my life, I had very shallow knowledge of Him. Although I prayed in His name, heard stories about Him, perhaps believed that all power belongs to Him- I never knew Him personally.
This lack of personal knowledge of Him often leads to :
- slander or abuse of His name
- deprivation of blessings we ought to access and enjoy from knowing Him
- gross darkness in one’s eyes and life
- unending turmoil
- sadness and depression
- misguided steps and costly errors
- loneliness
These things listed above could come upon any human or believer at any junction of our lives. But the commitment to keep knowing more of Jesus helps to :
- keep us on track
- fill our hearts with continuous joy
- set us on the right path
- open our eyes to see clearly
- ultimately helps our relationship with Jesus blossom
In today’s blog post, I am writing to you :
- who thinks Jesus is a sham
- who perhaps are struggling in your relationship with Jesus
- who used to know Him but have given up
To you thinking He is sham:
Jesus is real, as real as your existence and He has me writing to you to encourage you to search some more, direct all the questions you have to Him and pay attention to Him as He answers the questions you may have. Give it some of your time to do your research about Him. The best place to look is the Holy Bible which is a compendium of who He is and His love for you.
To you struggling in your relationship with Jesus :
Every blossoming relationship that may ever exist lies on the bedrock of commitment to knowing one another in order to serve and love each other in the relationship. Therefore, a relationship with Jesus Christ should be structured in such manner. The knowledge of Jesus yesterday isn’t enough for the journey today
That said, I am thankful that you are honest and acknowledge that you are struggling in your relationship with Him. Now that you acknowledge, speak to Him about it. Be vulnerable in His presence, tell Him how you want to soar in your relationship with Him and ask Him to help you. More so, engage the Holy spirit to strengthen you to pray often, and spend time with God. The Holy spirit is our ever present help, every day, all day.
To you who used to know Him but have given up
I can only imagine the events that led to your exhaustion and abandonment of your relationship with Him. Jesus loves you so much and was there all through your pain and doubts and He still cares for you. And from the depths of my heart, I pray that you decide to go back into Jesus’ ever open arms and grow in His grace and knowledge
Amen.
