“What is this life?”, Olamide had asked me on the 10th day in the month of December 2017. He was narrating an incident, something sad that had happened in his church.
A number of people had just died, they were involved in an accident, on their way back from a member’s wedding. He was devastated at the news, I was sad to hear such a news. I could tell he was more devastated at the fact that these people were devoted Christians, people with bright future, big plans, fire brands. He gave me a mental picture of some them, things they had achieved, things they were doing. “These are people I would like to be like, people I look up to and they are dead”, he lamented. And I am alive…what is this life?
I definitely know God does not want bad things to happen to His children, the devil is constantly raging against God’s children. I really cannot tell what could have gone wrong; we don’t have complete answers or reasons for these things. Or maybe it was just time for them to exit earth, God knows all of it.
I really do sympathize with the families affected and pray God strengthens and comforts them, only Him can.
But what this sad news and Olamide’s laments struck inside and within me was……
My life can end in just a second; the world can end at anytime. Yes! I have always known these but am I living intentionally with the things that matter in focus?
I am chasing after making a good name for myself, have nice gadgets, wear the prettiest outfits, shoes have an amazing family. The list is endless… these things are good, amazing in fact, I mean my father in heaven is the wealthiest, so I should have access to these things.
But am I living with heaven in focus? What becomes of me when I close my eyes or if the world ends?
I am going into this year living intentionally to please God, to be in right standing (this is called righteousness with God). What about you?
I am staying excited about the thoughts heaven, how beautiful it would be there. Hey! Not like I want to die anytime soon, or want death for any of you. But Lord! Judgment is a split second after death, ones fate-heaven or hell happens right after one leaves this earth. Hell is not pleasant place at all

‘So if you are serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides.
Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ-that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective’. Colossians 3:1-2
Action-Invite Jesus into your life if you haven’t. If somehow you did a little drift from Him, do come back.
Say this short prayer; Dear Lord, I acknowledge that heaven is where the action is and I want to be part of it.
I confess my sins, I make a turn around from my old ways today. Lord help to lead a life that pleases you in Jesus name. Amen
Yeah! that done, look around for a bible believing church and start to attend, study the Holy Bible; it’s in it you can read God’s mind
