It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, I got home exasperated, desperate and eager. I was eager and desperate for the baptism of the Holy ghost. I had just left a gathering of people who were thirsty, hungry and prayed for the baptism of the Holy ghost and many of them of them got baptized.
But for me it seemed like I was not baptized, so I got home, got on my knees and prayed earnestly for the baptism of the Holy ghost. The scripture says we should pray without ceasing, right? So I kept at it till I slept off.
In this state of rest is when God can speak to us because we are not distracted or immersed with all the noise in the world. In this same state of rest also, is when the devil could strike, attack his unaware victims.
As I slept, I had a dream…. I was accustomed by some strange looking guys dressed in black. They did not mean to do any good, I was so sure. My self-defense was to burst out in tongues- evidence that I had been baptized in the Holy ghost.
My prayers had been answered, I was baptized and my attackers fled at the outburst of my heavenly language. Who knows what could have happened if I was not armed with the tongue of fire.
I shared a story of a woman whose maid died in the middle of the night, well her maid was stabbed by her uncle in the dream and she was found on the floor in her toilet by her boss in the middle of the night. Helen came back to live through the effective prayers of her boss.
Our lives are constantly on the attack by forces, powers we may and may not see. Their main goal is to frustrate our faith in Jesus Christ, keep us from fulfilling the bright destinies set before us.
But by the death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary and His resurrection, we Christians have authority and power that we under-utilize, that we may not even know of .
