In as much as Jesus died for us, His love and mercies over our lives are endless. His death and resurrection gives us victory over principalities and darkness even in the highest of places.
We have our parts and roles to play in claiming this victory of ours, in walking in the light and knowledge of our Victorious lives in Jesus Christ.
We need to Exercise our Lives of Victory through Jesus Christ
As Christians we are faced with the reality of the wickedness of the world we live in, like it or not. There is a lot of wickedness flying around.
It is so sad to read or see the appalling state of wickedness in this world. But then the word of God has told us that the Heart of man is filled with wickedness- Genesis 6:5
The heart of man is so wicked!! It takes only the hand of God and the breathe of Jesus to really change a man.
A man must have seen God or known Him so well for him to function or live out the attributes of God:
God is kind, slow to anger, patient, He is Holy, He is loving and so on..
I read about a man who killed 70 of his brothers!!! In one day, at a goal- Judges 9 Only because he wanted to be king at all cost.
Wickedness had existed thousands of years ago. It lived in the life of Abimelech, Gideon’s son. And it still lives in the lives of men till date
How can we survive in such a wicked world?
- Know who you are in Christ Jesus– God has called us into His marvelous light and He has committed certain things into our hands to achieve. Hence, if we are faced with death or whatsoever that is evil, say to it God has promised me long life and a long drink at salvation!Psalm 91:16 Therefore I cannot die but live until I fulfill all that God has written concerning me.
- Confess the Word of God– It is written that God honors His word more than His name. If He has told you certain things about your life and you have not seen them manifest, you have no business being overwhelmed by evil! Confess the word of the Lord over the situation, even before any evil arises, confess the word of the Lord over your life. For example: Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against me shall prosper, every tongue that rises against me in judgement shall be condemned. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness of me saith the Lord.
- Cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit-He is the Spirit of God, ask Him for help every time you need even for the smallest of things .Constantly ask Him to direct you, order your steps, help you to choose the right friends and so on. He can never ever do you dirty, He can never ever mislead you, never! Start asking for Him now and as time goes on, you begin to understand how He leads and directs you and your trust in Him will increase.
- Go into hiding if need be– Jotham, Abimelech’s brother who was supposed to be killed too was able to run and hide for about 3 years. Even Jesus Christ when He was born needed to go into hiding when Herod was after His life.
- Do not sleep while you are hiding– Do not let life pass by you all in the name of hiding, while you are taking cover from the glaring eyes of your enemies. Have a strategy- because a man who could kill 70 brothers would easily dispose of the only surviving sibling just to remain unrattled on the throne. Prayerfully wage war against such kind of darkness or wickedness rising against you because God is a man of War and the Lord is His name! Exodus 15:3 And draw power from God through prayer.
- Always plead the blood of Jesus over your life, ask the presence of God to Overshadow your life. Ask Him to give His angels charge over your life.
- Be a friend of Jesus– All of the above benefits can and will be enjoyed if we are friends with Jesus if you are not yet a friend of Him. Stop missing out on life, Confess your sins, repent and turn to Jesus.
