Perfect gift for Jesus’ birthday

During the cause of the week, I saw a post on Instagram that caught my attention and it made too much sense to me. So much sense I had to repost on my whatsapp.

Then a friend of mine, Adaeze messaged me asking, What could we ever give Jesus?

I saw her message and thought for a short while, and I remembered I had posted something like an answer to her question that on here.

But I needed to answer her, So I answered her with my foreknowledge. God has needs, He wants us to do certain things for Him.

But she pressed on, seeing how interested she was in knowing. I told her I’d get back to her and pray God helps me to explain it to her.

And I decided to share with all of you 🙂

In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve. He gave them and their children unborn all they needed and wanted, all of it!!! And the only thing God asked in return was for them to fellowship with Him always. In fellowshipping with God, He would give them directions, steps, instructions as to how they could please Him.

All God wanted and still wants is for His children to fellowship with Him always.

It broke God’s heart badly when Adam and Eve disobeyed Him. It really did break His heart.

Hence He thought of a way to reconcile we the descendants of Adam with Himself. He did this through Jesus Christ.

Just hold on a bit, I am coming gradually to what gift we can give to Jesus.

As time went on, Abraham was another man who was referenced as a man who pleased God. He was instructed by God to leave his comfort zone to a land that was unknown to him.

But with faith and in obedience he obeyed God and followed God’s leading.

I am almost sure that Abraham got the instructions while fellowshipping with God while spending time with God.

Without faith no man can please God, so we must have and express our faith in God to please Him. Hebrews 11:6

It is better to obey God than to give sacrifice or to obey a certain man, obedience is key in pleasing God. Acts 5: 29, I Samuel 15:22

So back to how God’s plan of reconciliation & how it played out. Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem. Like almost every tradition I know around the world, the newborn baby gets gifts from friends, family, and well-wishers.

And baby Jesus wasn’t exempted, He was gifted with worship and Gold, Frankincense & Myhrr from the three wise men. Matthew 2:11

Gold given to Jesus signified His royalty, His Kingship over Kings, Kingship over His chosen people, His children.

Frankincense was a symbol of worship of the King of Kings, the King of Israel, the one who came to reconcile God with His children.

And Myrhh, an embalming oil for the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

So ultimately what can we gift Jesus Christ with?

A life of worship, a life that acknowledges Him as king and final authority over everything in this world and even our lives.

Also, a life that references the sufferings death of Jesus Christ. Live your life in such a way that Jesus Christ remembers the pains and agony and thinks to Himself, it sure was worth it. 🙂

As we celebrate Christmas, think about these things.Think about the best of gifts you can give to Jesus Christ.

  1. Hi dear, beautiful piece.. I enjoyed reading it but I had to go research something based on what I knew before but wanted more confirmation. The wise men according to my understanding were not numbered in the bible.. They gave three gifts hereby the misconception that they were three.. They could have been more.. I stand to be corrected… Have a great Christmas..

    1. Hi Moyinoluwa, Thank you for reading and sharing. I just went to read through Matthew chapter 2, truly the men were not numbered. The bible says some men from the East.
      Thank you again
      X

  2. I think the best gift or one of the best gifts we can give to Jesus is soul winning.. We win souls for Christ hereby populating the kingdom and depopulating(if there is any word like that.. Lol..) the kingdom of hell.. Oh how Christ will love that..
