Tall,unmovable mountain-like faith

I got home on Wednesday  evening and saw my house lit, I got close to the gate to listen for any generator sound. But there was none, I smiled to myself in awe of God’s ‘amazingness.’

Something which was responsible for transmitting electricity to houses in my estate  had  blown a few days ago. It took about two months to get it fixed the last time this happened, it was so annoying. Money burnt on fueling  the generator, the refrigerator was not able to function optimally and the it goes on.

So when it blew again, I really was not banking on a replacement anytime soon. But somehow, during my prayers on Tuesday I was led to make declarations. Meaning I was speaking things like they already existed, meaning my faith was 100/100. In the course of this I remembered our light Situation, and I said, Let there be light in this house in Jesus name. Made a few more declarations about the light situation and went ahead with my prayers.

Later that day, I remember checking to see if God had done it…lol

But then I saw His hand this evening, it took me back to a meeting I was in some time ago. The pastor pointed out how God answers those small prayers, petitions we make to him. Those small prayers of protection, not being harassed by the police, success at a presentation, those seemingly trivial things we ask from God and He answers.

It should give us reassurance on the big things we ask from Him and it seems like there is a delay in His answers.

Truth is when I came in on Wednesday evening and I saw the house lit, my faith level went up a tiny little notch. As I strolled to the door, I found myself thanking God for the amazing things He is doing and I was about to see their manifestations.

The Christian race is laid on a foundation of faith and we just cannot afford for it dwindle.

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It is our handle on what we can’t see– Hebrews 11:1 The Message Bible.

A lot of things will come to shake our faith and trust in God, but they are all tests. I hope we all remember that always.

I would like to share a few of what I know about faith and How not to let it dwindle or die eventually.

Faith is a gift from God to Christians- Once we become Christians, spiritual gifts such as faith is deposited in us- I Corinthians 12:9. But I believe a different measure of faith is deposited in all of us. So as we grow and feed our spirit man, our faith levels increase as well.

So how can our faith become tall, unmovable mountains that will never fall?

Dwell on those amazing things God has done for you– You cannot be reading this post and not have seen or experienced God’s love. He sure must have done some minor, major wonders for you. Take time out, list these things and just bask in His glory. If God could get me a job I least qualified for, He sure can do greater things. This for sure will work on your faith muscles and give it some strength.

And as you do so, walk in this light, your head held up high.

Roll with People with stronger faith levels-In Paul’s letter to the Romans, chapters 1 verse 11-12, he expressed how he wanted to see them, impart some of his spiritual gift upon them- faith, to strengthen them. By doing so, both parties will be strengthened. Mere listening to people’s testimonies increases our faith; now imagine constantly being around someone whose faith level is 1000/100

I became a positive thinker way back in secondary school because I had this friend who  told me I should always see the bright side of things, she always did.

We are seeing the same thing right?  Having friends with great levels of faith will do your faith muscles a great deal.

Feed your faith appropriately -Faith comes by hearing the message, this message is heard through the word of Christ- Romans 10:17. I already pointed that as Christians, we have measures of faith. Hence to increase our faith levels, we need to listen a lot to the God’s word- sermons, the bible, inspirational messages, Godly conversations, just keep ingesting the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit– This! Gives a lot of strength to our spirit being. If this strengthens our spirit being, definitely every gift in its possession will be strengthened. We really should be praying  in the spirit daily.

Stick to Jesus, be His friend– He has been there, done that and over there, victorious  in the place of honour, seated with God. Be His friend and learn how He did it.
