The thing About the Comfort zone

The thing about the comfort zone is that it more than often usually starts off exciting, perhaps adventurous but over time as one remains there; doing the same thing over and over, day in day out, it becomes boring. It becomes less exciting doing the one thing that was once enjoyable. Instead of enjoyable activities or tasks, it becomes a monotonous chore that you probably hate but you feel obligated to do.

The thing about the comfort zone is that one who stays there never gets the opportunity to see and enjoy the beauty of other zones that exists.

This is probably what Christianity has become to many people around the world, a monotonous task of going to church on Sundays just because they feel obligated to do so. I probably was there, a few years ago but I have learned over time that Christianity is a lifestyle that can be thoroughly enjoyed and lived to its fullest only if we left our comfort zones to the deeper zones with Jesus Christ.

God is an awesome God! His depths, width, glory is unfathomable! This week, I could not help but gush over His love over me and what His love is doing to me and for me. It goes beyond what words in my vocabulary can describe, It is something inexplicable! something that I pray all men experience. I believe that is why king David, the psalmist makes a call for all men to have a taste of God to see how good He is. David’s knowledge and access to the presence of God still did not give him the ability to craft what he felt into words. Although, he tried his best to explain how magnificent God’s presence in his psalms- He says to us taste and see for yourself that the Lord is good- Psalm 34:8.

God is calling you to

  • seek Him,
  • research about Him through His word,
  • explore depths in Him,
  • ask Him questions
  • Spend quality time to listen to Him.
  • Do not remain stuck up on your monotonous Sunday service chore.
  • Explore deeper realms with God and I promise you, you would never want to stay in your comfort zone.

When you leave the shores of the sea, to follow the lead of Jesus Christ into the deep of the beautiful sea of His love. Then and only then, would you be submerged in the waves and tides of His love. And like the psalmist in Psalm 42:7-8, you may be able to say – Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me. The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me
